The V8 S15 Rebuild Continues

We’ve been working flat-out on rebuilding our V8 S15 since we got back from Autosport International few weeks ago and a number of parts of have started rolling through our workshop doors (including the new VH45 engine that we’ll be using, but more on that another time!).

Due to the uniqueness of the project at the time, the manifolds, intake pipes, downpipes and screamer pipes were all fabricated in-house in order to meet our exact requirements. These have all remained on the car since being built back in 2010 but with heat in the engine bay being a common problem we decided that these components needed some special treatment.

We decided that the best approach would be for all of the aforementioned pipework to be ceramic coated which was carried out by Camcoat in nearby Warrington.

Since receiving the parts back we have been blow away by the quality of work and can’t wait to get everything fitted once the new engine is in place!

Next up was a selection of new breathing apparatus from our good friends at K&N, including a pair of 57i high flow filters, four 1″ filters for our breather setup and a pair of filter socks to help prevent the new filters being doused in water, gravel or loose debris that might be picked up at an upcoming event.

Together these filters and accessories will help to give the perfect blend of function and form in the cramped engine bay and will ensure that the VH45 only inhales the cleanest of air.
