Sully Hits Up Cork for IDC

The weekend saw the running of the fourth round of this year’s Irish Drift Championship, held at the makeshift venue at Cork Marts in County Cork. Having endured a fairly disastrous third round of the series, Shane was hoping for a return to form in order to aid his title campaign.

After using the available practice time to get used to the purpose built track Shane headed into qualifying with his eyes set firmly on a Top 16 placing, with a 10th place standing being the eventual reward for his efforts.

Super Lap followed qualifying, and this is where each of the Top 16 drivers get one shot to decide who they will face in the battle stage. As always, Sully came into his own during the Super Lap round and put in a run that gave him third place.

With a lot at stake in the battles, Shane was hoping for a succession of pairings that would see him competing for a podium finish but, unfortunately, it was not to be after a close fight with Chris Brady  and his S14.5.

With the championship now sown up both 2nd and 3rd place are still up for grabs, so you can be sure that Shane will be pulling out all the stops at the final round, set to be held at Mondello Park on the 7th & 8th of September.
