Sully at IDC Rd3: Go Hard or Go Home

After two podium finishes at the first two rounds of the Irish Drift Championship Team Japspeed driver Shane O’Sullivan was hoping to continue his run of success into the third round. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side as he and the Japspeed RB25 powered S15 descended on the Ennis Marts venue.

Qualifying didn’t exactly go to plan for Shane but he managed to pull it together when it counted and qualify in a respectable 6th place.

Next up was the Super Lap competition, in which Shane decided to push that extra bit harder…and ended up running the unforgiving wall a little harder than he intended to!

Moving into the Top 16 battles and Sully’s first opponent was Mike Deane; unfortunately Shane went in a little too hot on his chase run and ended up giving Mike a love tap with one of his front wheels while on full lock. Unfortunately this collision forced Sully’s retirement from the battle and, consequently, his premature departure from the competition.

In these situations we have to take the highs with the lows, keep our heads up and think about the future and not get too hung up on the past. With the third round of the Maxxis British Drift Championship being held at Teesside this weekend we are hoping for a return to form for the team and some more silverware to add to the Team Japspeed trophy cabinet. We’ll see you there!
