Round 5 At Silverstone For Trax

We had all been looking forward to the Round 5 of the Maxxis British Championship. Sharing the day with the incredibly popular Trax show, it sees the BDC Super Pro drivers doing their thing in front of 16,000 people at Silverstone! The lure of being able to drift around the famous fast paced F1 track is irresistible!
All of the Team Japspeed drivers qualified, putting us in a strong position for the days championship round. We had further competition in the contest with Speedhunters entering a team consisting of Formula D stars Fredric Aasbo and Darren “D-Mac” McNamara! We have captured the spirit of the day, interviews with Shane Lynch and Steve Biagioni and a taste of the sideways action in another one of our incredible videos, shot by Josh Holdsworth. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
The battles were exhilarating, the days plaudits should go to Team Japspeed’s Paul Smith after his impressive and tricky run to the podium. Paul had it tough from the start as he faced Japspeed team-mate Baggsy, then going on to tackle Mark Luney in the huge power SATS Supra. If that wasn’t a big enough challenge, he then had to battle with D-Mac to go on and face Fredric Aasbo in the final! A truly amazing run for victory! A run that deserves respect. It stirred up huge reactions from the packed Silverstone grandstands and earned him a valiant 2nd place! This also leaves Paul in an incredibly strong position as we approach the final round of the Maxxis British Drift Championship.
