While Shane O’Sullivan was busy winning trophies at Prodrift in Ireland, the other half of Team Japspeed were up north in Scotland performing an array of drift demos at the awesome Knockhill Circuit! The event, Total Jap Car, was setup by Total Car Magazines who cater for Subaru, Mitusbishi, Nissan and Honda fans, and if you’ve ever been to Scotland before you know they love their Japanese metal!
With Baggsy’s 1JZ Impreza and Shane Lynch’s V8 S15 packed up the team headed north on Saturday morning to be greeted with… rain! Plenty of rain (we didn’t expect anything less from the UK!) but a bit of drizzle doesn’t put off the Scots who were out in force even before the show officially opened on the Sunday.
By the time Sunday arrived Total Jap Car was absolutely heaving! Despite the weather hundreds of Japanese car fans turned up with plenty of clubs and traders also on display. With the Japspeed stand setup and both cars on display we were mugged by die-hard fans (in a good way!) eager to see both cars, and it was awesome to see so many fans trackside for the displays. Luckily by the afternoon the rain had cleared and the track dried, allowing both cars to fully smoke out the Maxxis MA-Z1 tyres BIG time! Check out a quality entry from Baggsy below:
We’ve got to hand it to the Scottish, come rain or shine they support their shows 100%. It’s always a pleasure to get such a warm reception at Knockhill, and we genuinely can’t wait to get back up here for the British Drift Championship. Thanks once again to the whole of Total Car Magazines, Knockhill Circuit and all of our sponsors.
Big thanks to Steven Carrie for the images.
