As standard, the NewAge Subaru Impreza features a highly restrictive exhaust system with two additional catalysers needed to comply with the relevant EU emissions standards. Naturally, this significantly compromises performance but, with a few choice parts, a lot more power can be released with relative ease.

Japspeed’s NewAge Decat Downpipe removes both the first and second factory-fitted catalysers, and combined with a 3 inch bore (with 2.5 inch outlet) provides minimum restriction. The sole purpose of this decat is to maximise exhaust gasflow, speeding up turbo spool and also improving throttle response. This is a straight factory replacement designed to work with either aftermarket or standard exhaust systems, and by itself will see gains of over 10bhp.

As with all of Japspee’ds high quality exhaust products, the decat downpipe is made from mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel – TIG welded for strength and durability. All bolts and gaskets are included, and more importantly this downpipe also features a Lambda boss fitted to accept the O2 sensor probe to prevent any emission warning lights on the dash.
