If you’re a follower of the Japspeed Facebook (if you aren’t, why not? Go Like us!) you’ll have seen a few little sneaky snaps of the Subaru Impreza undergoing a slightly un-planned rebuild after this month’s earlier antics. Despite getting the car back with minimal damage, we simply could not risk putting the car out in competition until EVERY component had been checked and vital fluids replaced. We don’t know what fuel was used or how it was driven so a bit more work was needed than just putting some stickers back on.
Although having the original custom exhaust stolen wasn’t exactly planned, this did give us the opportunity to run one of our awesome new ‘Shotgun’ exhausts. If you’re after a loud, in-yer-face fire-spitting exhaust system (and lets be honest, who doesn’t?!) The Shotgun is perfect. Combined with the big single-turbo 1JZ lump it’s going to sound totally amazing – 3in all the way back from the turbo with two 3in slash-cut tips – full specification available here: http://japspeed.co.uk/Nissan-Skyline-R33-Shotgun-Exhaust/p-0-857/
With the exhaust sorted, the missing parts sourced and replaced there was one key elements left – the stickers. There’s no way we’re changing the livery – it was thanks to the Impreza’s distinctive look and design which led to it being spotted and returned. After the bodywork was completely cleaned it was time for Japspeed and Maxxis stickers… oh, and a cheeky little sticker for the rear bumper to really make a point to those thieves 😉 we won’t tell you what it is, you’ll have to wait until Teeside to see which winning slogan we’ve used. And we hope EVERYONE comes along not only to support the BDC but also to cheer on Baggsy – it’s going to be a good feeling to get this car back out competing where it belongs!
