It’s safe to say 2011 has been a pretty crazy year for Team Japspeed! We’ve re-vamped Shane’s S15, built an S14a competition car, seen Paul Smith’s S15 get on the podium and of course that Impreza theft which we got back thanks to the help of our 20,000+ Facebook fans. Aside from the drama, it’s been a year of development for the whole team with so many changes to all the cars, and going into the final this weekend we couldn’t be in a better position!
After taking on the Prodrift series final earlier in the month, Baggsy’s driving in the Impreza has been absolutely staggering – really getting to grips with the 1JZ-powered machine. Shane’s V8 has performed faultlessly this year, and with a quaife sequential box it’s an absolute weapon as he proved at Knockhill taking 3rd place. As always Paul Smith has been mr consistent, his S15 performing very well and his smooth driving style seeing him progress through to the final eight on several occasions.
So for the big finale we’re on the way up to the Nissan Factory in Co. Durham for an all-new venue which is going to be epic! All three classes in the Maxxis British Drift Championship are going to be decided, and there’s everything to play for. Rest assured Team Japspeed will be giving it 110% as always, and if you’re coming up to support us make sure you say hello to the team!
