Team Japspeed Bids Farewell to Danny Eyles

After four amazing seasons Japspeed’s original drift-king, Danny Eyles, is leaving the team to pursue a career on two wheels instead of the traditional sliding four.

Spotted back in 2006 by Paul McCallum, Danny started his drifting career as a 20-year-old in an entry-level R33 GTS-T Skyline. His super-aggresive driving style and consistentcy made him a force to be reckoned with especially in the twin battles, which  soon propelled into the Pro-series and piloting the RB25-powered Japspeed S15 throughout 2009 and 2010.

Few other drivers have had the success of Danny.  Despite not winning a championship he holds the longest consecutive podiums in BDC history, a total of 14 on the trot between 2009 and 2010! With team-mate Shane Lynch he also took the Team Drift crown back in 2008 too.

With 2011 shaping up to be the BDC’s most successful year to date it’ll be the first season Japspeed compete without Danny on the team, but we all wish him the absolute best with his new carer prospects, and we hope to see him in the BDC paddock throughout the year.
