Autosport International 2015

The start to a new year means one thing: a trip to Autosport International at the Birmingham NEC. Held at the start of January every year, 2015 marked our fifth trip to the show and the fifth consecutive year that Team Japspeed would be performing in the Live Action Arena.

Taking place over four days, the show gives motorsport teams and manufacturers the chance to display their wares to both the trade and the general public, with all of the biggest names in the industry in attendance.

The show also saw the unveiling of our brand new Nissan 370Z on the Maxxis Tyres stand by Japspeed driver Shane Lynch, flanked by the Maxxis Babes as they removed the cover to display our creation to the crowd.

Despite the 370Z being far from completion (both mechanically and aesthetically speaking) it still went down an absolute storm, with everyone loving the outlandish mechanical aspects and appreciating the subtle street car appearance and creature comforts in the cabin.

Over in the Live Action Arena the aforementioned Shane Lynch was joined by fellow Japspeed drivers Paul Smith, Shane O’Sullivan and Danny Eyles as they put on a series of hugely entertaining drift demos in front of the massive crowds that assembled throughout the four days.

Drifting indoors is always a unique experience for both drivers and spectators alike and the response we received was absolutely overwhelming.

The drivers also undertook a number of autograph sessions over on the Maxxis Tyres stand, signing anything and everything that the fans put in front of them. It was great to hear everyone’s response to the Live Action Arena demos along with their thoughts on the new 370Z build.

Sunday evening spelled the end of another successful Autosport show and a return to Japspeed HQ to prepare the cars for the upcoming British Drift Championship season. We’d like to thank everyone that came out to see us at the NEC and we’ll hopefully see you track-side soon!
