Professional Drift Driver
"It all started for me in May 2007 when I was out one night at a car cruise and saw some pimp Volvos and old school Escorts drifting. Straight away fell in love and knew I wanted to have a go. I soon bought my first drift car which was a Stock 1.7 340 Volvo and got to work lowering and welding the diff. I also fitted a 16v Renault engine and a hydraulic handbrake.
I started off 'street' drifting, learning the basics and soon got myself down to a drift what you brung day at Santa Pod. After doing a number of these days it dawned on me that I needed more power and higher spec. I then brought myself a UK spec Nissan s13 and carried on modifying it buying lots of JAPSPEED parts and replacing my blown up CA18 engine for a SR20.
After improving my skills at various track days, I was now ready for something bigger and better!! That is when I spotted a new exciting competition on Driftworks – The British Drift Championship. After achieving an amateur licence in December 07 I soon found myself at round one of the competition. After terrible weather at the first round at Teeside I qualified in the top 8 and finished 8th overall. Throughout the remainder of the competition I managed to achieve a top 8 qualifying position 4 out of the 6 rounds, with a final overall position of 8th. I also achieved an award for being the best entertainer at round 5.
A short time after the competition I was lucky enough to be contacted by Paul at JAPSPEED offering me sponsorship for 2009. This was fantastic news for me which got even better when I was told I was now eligible for a Pro licence too and I just can’t wait for it all to begin. I am currently working hard on my new japspeed powered s13, Roll on 2009 where I will be driving with some amazingly talented drivers as part of TEAM JAPSPEED"
