Keen followers of Team Japspeed may have caught up with Steve 'Baggsy' Biagioni, Paul 'Smokey' Smith and Shane Lynch at Rockingham last weekend for the annual French Car Show...not our usual kind of show but who are we to pass us an opportunity to practice / show off drifting?

Its been another hectic weekend for Team Japspeed, one which took us all the way to Rockingham Speedway for the French Car Show. Truth be told its not our usual show (seeing as we're a team of Japanese cars) but Rockingham is one of the best racing complexes the UK has to offer, and any excuse to practice/show off drifting is a good enough reason for Japspeed!

It's safe to say the bank holiday weekend was a busy one for Team Japspeed - while the UK guys were at Modified Nationals with Maxxis Tyres, Shane O'Sullivan and Japspeed Ireland were busy competing in Prodrift Round 2, Fernoy, in the RB25-powered S15.

Just a few days after Japfest @ Castle Combe Team Japspeed were back on the road for BDC Round 2 at awesome Norfolk Arena. It's hardly been the easiest of weeks either, with Baggsy's Impreza undergoing some last-minute repairs after an unfortunate prang at Japfest. It's taken several all-nighters but come Friday morning the Impreza was ready and on its way!

For those keen followers of the Japspeed blog (and those who turned up at BDC Round 1) you'll have noticed Shane's V8 twin-turbo S15 sporting a whole new livery and new Rota GTR-D wheels. But over the winter period this S15 has undergone much bigger tweaks than just cosmetic - in fact, the entire car has been completely overhauled to give Shane another shot at the BDC title this year.

After a massive winter re-fresh on ALL the Team Japspeed cars BDC Round 1 Donnington was judgement day! With aggsy's Subaru noq 1JZ-powered and Shane's V8 twin-turbo S15 completely rebuilt with Quaife's new 6-speed sequential box and last year's reliability issues were hopefully (and finally) put to rest. The 1JZ of Paul Smith underwent a few suspension tweaks but otherwise remained in 2010 spec.

Japspeed are proud to announce the introduction of Ireland's Shane O'Sullivan to the team for 2011. After a successful 2010, Japspeed are branching out to compete full-time in the Irish ProDrift series, and as such their RB25-powered S15 will be maintained and ran by Shane Fnn and the rest of the Japspeed Ireland division.

It may have been a static display, but when the Japspeed drift cars of Danny Eyles and Steve Biagioni look this good it’d be rude not to show ‘em off! Over the weekend the Japspeed drift cars were displayed on both the Maxxis Tyres and Max Power stand getting a cracking reaction all weekend. Both Japspeed drivers were also on standby to answer questions and pictures… not to mention enjoy the sight of the Maxxis ladies!
